Big hair, loud clothing and men wearing makeup were signature traits of the glam metal scene. Glam also gave rise to the 80s hair metal scene starting out in the sun set strip boulevard of west Hollywood.
Bands like Motley Crew, Twisted Sister and Poison were the main bands were specialized the 80s glam metal scene. The glam scene can be seen today with Poison still making the touring rounds and new bands doing resurrecting the old scene. The most popular hotspot for glam metal is in Scandinavia where the 80s hair metal scene is very popular. Many criticize the glam scene as all flash and no substance, but the point of the scene was to portray a fun atmosphere of partying and hot girls.
